Famously Engaged in February

Famously Engaged, my next book, is the most personal story I’ve ever written. It’s on the docket for a February release and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. I’ve never had a famous person land on my doorstep, but I don’t see why it couldn’t happen.

I like to explore the idea of people falling in love when the timing is at its absolute worst for them. People from different worlds with opposing goals and schedules that don’t match might be able to work something out, but when one of them is grief-stricken things get a whole lot more complicated.

Most of us would like a glimpse into the life of someone who is rich and famous and seriously talented, but we’d probably like to choose an appropriate time for that glimpse. I know I would! Beth – my heroine – doesn’t get that choice, and yet she makes the best of the situation she’s presented with. If the world thinks she’s engaged to Jake Olsen – mega famous front man of UK rock band Five Awesome Emperors – then she wants some of the benefits she’d have as his fiancée. That sounds fair to me! (and it was a lot of fun to write )
